Arriba Chica
I grew up in Southern California. Early family trips south of the border led to a lifelong fascination with the people and culture of Mexico and came to define my artistic vision.

Bienvenidos! I'm Kimberly. I'm an artist and designer and creator of Arriba Chica, my online shop at Etsy, www.arribachica.etsy.com. I'd like to share with you how I've been inspired by Mexican culture. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey. I would love for you to share your comments or questions!

My mother and I on my first visit to the artist colony of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico,1972.

I silkscreened her image to make my first collage!

I began adding 3-D elements to my collage work.
"I Crossed at Nogales"

Eventually I began creating large dimensional assemblages based on visual storytelling.

I was given the opportunity to go to Mexico City and visit Frida Kahlo's house and write about my experience in regard to my work.

That led to a New York City exhibit!

After completing a degree in Interior Design I returned to doing collage work that used design elements from Mexican iconography. Now I was in home design mode and ready for some new challenges! A home business...! I began an online store selling my art designs as pillows.Arriba Chica was born!
